DTC B1241 - Body ECU Switch Circuit Diagnosis

DESCRIPTION

DTC B1241 is output when the back door power window switch, the defogger switch and the rear power window switch are on. When these switches are off, this DTC is not output.
Using this DTC, you can check whether these switches are normal or not.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT
(a) Remove the back door power window regulator switch connector.
(b) Check for DTC.

Result





B -- REPLACE BACK DOOR POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH
A -- Continue to next step.

2. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (SWITCH - BODY ECU) (SWITCH - BODY GROUND)




(a) Disconnect the B5 ECU connector.
(b) Disconnect the B18 switch connector.
(c) Check the resistance between the wire harness side connectors.
Standard resistance:





(d) Check the resistance between the B18 back door switch connector and the body ground.
Standard resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. CHECK DTC OUTPUT
(a) Remove the air conditioning control (defogger switch) connector.
(b) Check for DTC.

B -- REPLACE AIR CONDITIONING CONTROL
A -- Continue to next step.

4. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (SWITCH - BODY ECU) (SWITCH - BODY GROUND)




(a) Disconnect the B5 ECU connector.
(b) Disconnect the D3 air conditioning control connector.
(c) Check the resistance between the wire harness side connectors.
Standard resistance:





(d) Check the resistance between the B3 switch connector and the body ground.
Standard resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

5. CHECK DTC OUTPUT
(a) Remove the windshield wiper switch connector.
(b) Check for DTC.

Result





B -- REPLACE WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH
A -- Continue to next step.

6. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (SWITCH - BODY ECU) (SWITCH - BODY GROUND)




(a) Disconnect the B6 ECU connector.
(b) Disconnect the C14 switch connector.
(c) Check the resistance between the wire harness side connectors.
Standard resistance:





(d) Check the resistance between the C14 switch connector and the body ground.
Standard resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK (BODY ECU)
