DTC C1258/58 - Transfer 4WD Position Switch Circuit
DESCRIPTION
The transfer condition (2WD or 4WD) is detected.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
NOTE: When replacing the master cylinder solenoid, perform zero point calibration Programming and Relearning.
PROCEDURE
1. INSPECT 4WD CONTROL SWITCH
(a) Check the select 2-4 and high-low system .
NG -- REPLACE 4WD CONTROL SWITCH
OK -- Continue to next step.
2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (4WD CONTROL SWITCH - BODY GROUND)
(a) Disconnect the 4WD control switch connector.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (GND CIRCUIT)
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (4WD CONTROL ECU - 4WD CONTROL SWITCH)
(a) Disconnect the 4WD control ECU connector and 4WD control switch connector.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SKID CONTROL ECU - ECM)
(a) Disconnect the skid control ECU connector.
(b) Disconnect the 4WD control ECU connector.
(c) Disconnect the ECM connector.
(d) Disconnect the A.D.D. actuator connector.
(e) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SKID CONTROL ECU - 4WD CONTROL ECU - A.D.D. ACTUATOR)
(a) Disconnect the skid control ECU connector.
(b) Disconnect the ECM connector.
(c) Disconnect the A.D.D. actuator connector.
(d) Disconnect the 4WD control ECU connector.
(e) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:
w/o A-TRAC Switch
w/ A-TRAC Switch
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
6. INSPECT 4WD CONTROL ECU
(a) Disconnect the skid control ECU connector.
(b) Turn the ignition switch to ON.
(c) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard voltage:
w/o A-TRAC Switch
w/ A-TRAC Switch
NG -- REPLACE 4WD CONTROL ECU
OK -- Continue to next step.
7. INSPECT ECM (4WD TERMINAL)
(a) Turn the ignition switch off.
(b) Disconnect the ECM connector.
(c) Turn the ignition switch to ON.
(d) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard voltage:
NG -- REPLACE ECM
OK -- Continue to next step.
8. INSPECT A.D.D. ACTUATOR
(a) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard voltage:
NG -- REPLACE A.D.D. ACTUATOR
OK -- REPLACE MASTER CYLINDER SOLENOID
