Driver Side Door Entry Lock Function does not Operate

DESCRIPTION

If the driver door entry lock function does not operate but the entry unlock function operates, the communication line between the vehicle and electrical key transmitter is normal. As a faulty part, the entry lock switch circuit (certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) -> driver side door outside handle (entry lock switch) -> driver side door electrical key oscillator) can be considered.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
NOTE: Before performing the inspection, check that there are no problems related to "CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM" and "LIN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM".

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK POWER DOOR LOCK OPERATION
(a) When the door control switch on the master switch assembly is operated, check that the locked doors unlock Power Door Lock Control System.
OK:
Locked doors unlock.
NG -- GO TO POWER DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM
OK -- Continue to next step.
2. READ VALUE ON TECHSTREAM (DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE)
(a) Connect Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the engine switch on (IG).
(c) Turn the tester on.
(d) Enter the following menus:
Body Electrical / Smart Key / Data List.
(e) Select D Trigger SW in the Data List and read the tester display.

Smart Key (Certification ECU (Smart Key ECU Assembly)):





OK:
On the tester screen, the item changes between ON and OFF according to the chart above.
NG -- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE - DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR)
OK -- REPLACE CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY)
3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE - DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR)




(a) Remove the front door outside handle Removal.
(b) Disconnect the door electrical key oscillator connector.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:






NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CERTIFICATION ECU - FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE)




(a) Disconnect the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) connector.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:






NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
5. INSPECT FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE (DRIVER SIDE)




(a) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:






NG -- REPLACE FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE
OK -- Continue to next step.
6. REPLACE DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR
(a) Replace the door electrical key oscillator Removal.
NEXT -- Continue to next step.
7. CHECK DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR (OPERATION)
(a) Check that the entry functions operate normally.
OK:
Entry functions operate normally.
NG -- REPLACE CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY)
OK -- END (DOOR ELECTRICAL OSCILLATOR IS DEFECTIVE)
