DIFFERENTIAL: REAR DIFFERENTIAL CARRIER ASSEMBLY: INSTALLATION

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL NO. 1 REAR DIFFERENTIAL SUPPORT





(a) Install the No. 1 rear differential support to the rear differential carrier assembly with the 2 bolts and 2 lock nuts.
Torque: 103 Nm (1050 kgf-cm, 76 ft-lbf)
2. INSTALL REAR DIFFERENTIAL CARRIER ASSEMBLY





(a) Jack up the rear differential carrier assembly and rear suspension member sub-assembly with a jack.
(b) Connect the No. 1 rear differential support to the rear suspension member sub-assembly with the 2 bolts and 2 lock nuts.
Torque: 137 Nm (1400 kgf-cm, 101 ft-lbf)





(c) Install the rear differential carrier assembly to the rear suspension member sub-assembly with the 3 bolts.
Torque: 95 Nm (970 kgf-cm, 70 ft-lbf)
3. TEMPORARILY INSTALL REAR NO. 1 SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY LH Installation
4. INSTALL REAR SUSPENSION MEMBER Installation
5. INSTALL REAR DRIVE SHAFT SNAP RING LH Reassembly
6. INSTALL REAR DRIVE SHAFT SNAP RING RH
HINT: Perform the same procedure as the LH side.

7. INSTALL REAR DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY LH Installation
8. INSTALL REAR DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY RH
HINT: Perform the same procedure as the LH side.

9. TEMPORARILY INSTALL REAR NO. 1 SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY RH Installation
10. TEMPORARILY INSTALL REAR NO. 2 SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY LH Installation
11. TEMPORARILY INSTALL REAR NO. 2 SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY RH
HINT: Perform the same procedure as the LH side.

12. INSTALL REAR AXLE CARRIER SUB-ASSEMBLY LH Installation
13. INSTALL REAR AXLE CARRIER SUB-ASSEMBLY RH
HINT: Perform the same procedure as the LH side.

14. TEMPORARILY INSTALL REAR STRUT ROD ASSEMBLY (for LH Side) Installation

16. INSTALL REAR AXLE HUB AND BEARING ASSEMBLY LH Installation

22. TEMPORARILY INSTALL REAR AXLE SHAFT NUT LH Installation
23. TEMPORARILY INSTALL REAR AXLE SHAFT NUT RH
HINT: Perform the same procedure as the LH side.

24. INSTALL REAR SPEED SENSOR LH Installation
25. INSTALL REAR SPEED SENSOR RH

26. STABILIZE SUSPENSION Installation
27. FULLY TIGHTEN REAR NO. 1 SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY LH Installation
28. FULLY TIGHTEN REAR NO. 1 SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY RH
HINT: Perform the same procedure as the LH side.

29. FULLY TIGHTEN REAR NO. 2 SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY LH Installation
30. FULLY TIGHTEN REAR NO. 2 SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY RH
HINT: Perform the same procedure as the LH side.

31. FULLY TIGHTEN REAR STRUT ROD ASSEMBLY (for LH Side) Installation

HINT: Perform the same procedure as the LH side.

33. INSTALL NO. 3 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY Installation
34. INSTALL NO. 2 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY
HINT: Perform the same procedure as the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly.

35. SEPARATE REAR DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY LH Replacement
36. SEPARATE REAR DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY RH
HINT: Perform the same procedure as the LH side.

37. REMOVE REAR DISC (for LH Side) Disassembly
38. REMOVE REAR DISC (for RH Side)

39. INSPECT REAR AXLE HUB BEARING LOOSENESS (for LH Side) Rear Axle Hub
40. INSPECT REAR AXLE HUB BEARING LOOSENESS (for RH Side)
HINT: Perform the same procedure as the LH side.

41. INSPECT REAR AXLE HUB RUNOUT (for LH Side) Rear Axle Hub
42. INSPECT REAR AXLE HUB RUNOUT (for RH Side)
HINT: Perform the same procedure as the LH side.

43. INSTALL REAR DISC (for LH Side) Reassembly
44. INSTALL REAR DISC (for RH Side)
HINT: Perform the same procedure as the LH side.

45. INSTALL REAR DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY LH (for LH Side) Replacement
46. INSTALL REAR DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY RH (for RH Side)
HINT: Perform the same procedure as the LH side.

47. INSTALL REAR AXLE SHAFT NUT LH (for LH Side) Installation
48. INSTALL REAR AXLE SHAFT NUT RH (for RH Side)
HINT: Perform the same procedure as the LH side.

49. INSTALL CENTER EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY Installation
50. INSTALL TAIL EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY Installation
51. TEMPORARILY TIGHTEN PROPELLER WITH CENTER BEARING SHAFT ASSEMBLY Installation
52. FULLY TIGHTEN PROPELLER WITH CENTER BEARING SHAFT ASSEMBLY Installation
53. INSTALL REAR DIFFERENTIAL DRAIN PLUG





(a) Using a hexagon wrench (10 mm), install the filler plug with a new gasket.
Torque: 49 Nm (500 kgf-cm, 36 ft-lbf)
54. ADD DIFFERENTIAL OIL
(a) Fill the rear differential carrier assembly with hypoid gear oil.
55. INSPECT DIFFERENTIAL OIL Adjustments
56. INSTALL REAR DIFFERENTIAL FILLER PLUG





(a) Using a hexagon wrench (10 mm), install the filler plug with a new gasket.
Torque: 49 Nm (500 kgf-cm, 36 ft-lbf)
57. INSPECT AND ADJUST TRANSFER OIL Testing and Inspection
58. INSTALL REAR WHEEL
Torque: 103 Nm (1050 kgf-cm, 76 ft-lbf)
59. INSPECT REAR WHEEL ALIGNMENT Service and Repair
60. CHECK FOR REAR SPEED SENSOR SIGNAL Test Mode Procedure
61. INSPECT FOR EXHAUST GAS LEAK Installation
