3UR-FE INTAKE / EXHAUST: INTAKE MANIFOLD: INSTALLATION

INSTALLATION





1. INSTALL WIRE HARNESS CLAMP BRACKET
(a) Install the 2 wire harness clamp brackets with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 8.0 Nm (82 kgf-cm, 71 in-lbf)





2. INSTALL UNION TO CONNECTOR TUBE HOSE
(a) Install the tube hose to the intake manifold.
3. INSTALL NO. 1 VACUUM SWITCHING VALVE ASSEMBLY





(a) Connect the purge line hose to the intake manifold.
(b) Install the No. 1 vacuum switching valve assembly to the intake manifold with the bolt.
Torque: 21 Nm (214 kgf-cm, 16 ft-lbf)
4. INSTALL VACUUM SWITCHING VALVE ASSEMBLY (for ACIS)





(a) Install the vacuum switching valve to the intake manifold with the bolt.
Torque: 9.0 Nm (92 kgf-cm, 80 in-lbf)
(b) Connect the 2 vacuum hoses to the vacuum switching valve.
5. INSTALL THROTTLE W/MOTOR BODY ASSEMBLY





(a) Align the protrusion of a new gasket with the groove of the intake manifold, and install the gasket.





(b) Install the throttle W/ motor body with the 4 bolts.
Torque: 10 Nm (102 kgf-cm, 7 ft-lbf)
6. INSTALL V-BANK COVER BOLT





(a) Install the 2 bolts to the intake manifold.
Torque: 10 Nm (102 kgf-cm, 7 ft-lbf)
7. INSTALL NO. 1 V-BANK COVER BRACKET





(a) Install the bracket with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 10 Nm (102 kgf-cm, 7 ft-lbf)
8. INSTALL VENTILATION HOSE ASSEMBLY





(a) Install the ventilation hose to the intake manifold with the 2 bolts.
- for bolt A

Torque: 21 Nm (214 kgf-cm, 16 ft-lbf)
- for bolt B

Torque: 10 Nm (102 kgf-cm, 7 ft-lbf)
9. INSTALL INTAKE MANIFOLD





(a) Place 2 new gaskets on the intake manifold.
(b) Place the intake manifold on the cylinder head.





(c) Install and uniformly tighten the 8 bolts and 2 nuts in several steps.
Torque: 21 Nm (214 kgf-cm, 16 ft-lbf)





(d) Install the wire harness clamp bracket to the intake manifold with the bolt.
Torque: 8.0 Nm (82 kgf-cm, 71 in-lbf)





(e) Connect the 3 wire clamps to the 3 wire harness clamp brackets.





(f) Connect the No. 1 tube and install it to the intake manifold with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 8.2 Nm (84 kgf-cm, 73 in-lbf)





(g) Connect the purge VSV connector.
(h) Connect the purge line hose to the No. 1 vacuum switching valve assembly.
(i) Connect the vacuum switching valve connector (for ACIS).





(j) Connect the ventilation hose.





(k) Connect the 2 water by-pass hoses.
(l) Connect the throttle W/ motor body connector.





10. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Install the No. 1 engine cover sub-assembly.





11. INSTALL NO. 3 ENGINE COVER
(a) Install the No. 3 engine cover.
12. CONNECT VENTILATION HOSE ASSEMBLY





(a) Connect the ventilation hose to the ventilation pipe of the cylinder head cover LH and RH.





13. INSTALL AIR CLEANER HOSE ASSEMBLY
(a) Install the air cleaner hose with the 2 clamps.
Torque: 4.0 Nm (41 kgf-cm, 35 in-lbf)
(b) Connect the vacuum hose.
(c) Connect the ventilation hose.
14. ADD ENGINE COOLANT Service and Repair
15. INSPECT FOR COOLANT LEAK Testing and Inspection





16. INSTALL V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Attach the 2 V-bank cover hooks to the bracket. Then align the 2 V-bank cover grommets with the 2 pins, and press down on the V-bank cover to attach the pins.
