DTC B279C - Theft Deterrent System Presence Detection

DESCRIPTION

If an ECM that is incompatible with the engine immobiliser system is installed, the ECM outputs this DTC.






INSPECTION PROCEDURE
HINT: If the ECM is replaced, register the ECU communication ID.

PROCEDURE

1. CLEAR DTC
(a) Clear the DTC Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
NEXT -- Continue to next step.

2. CHECK FOR DTC
(a) Check for DTC Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
OK:
DTC B279C is not output.
NG -- REPLACE ECM
OK -- USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK
