1GR-FE ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM: THROTTLE BODY: INSTALLATION
INSTALLATION
1. INSTALL THROTTLE WITH MOTOR BODY ASSEMBLY
(a) Install a new gasket and the throttle with motor body with the 4 bolts.
Torque: 11 Nm (112 kgf-cm, 9 ft-lbf)
(b) Connect the throttle motor connector.
(c) Connect the water by-pass hose No. 4.
(d) Connect the water by-pass hose No. 5.
2. INSTALL AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY
(a) Install the air cleaner with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 8.0 Nm (82 kgf-cm, 71 in-lbf)
(b) Connect the ventilation hose No. 2.
3. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
Torque: 3.9 Nm (40 kgf-cm, 35 in-lbf)
4. ADD ENGINE COOLANT Service and Repair
5. CHECK FOR ENGINE COOLANT LEAKAGE Service and Repair
6. INSTALL V-BANK COVER
(a) Install the V-bank cover with the 2 nuts.
Torque: 7.5 Nm (76 kgf-cm, 66 in-lbf)
7. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
NOTICE: Perform the following procedure after replacing the ECM, throttle body assembly or any throttle body components or after cleaning the throttle body.
(a) Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Wait at least 60 seconds and reconnect the cable.
(b) Turn the ignition switch to the ON position without operating the accelerator pedal.
NOTICE: If the accelerator pedal is operated, perform the above steps again.
(c) Connect the tester to the DLC3 and clear the DTCs DTC Check / Clear.
(d) Start the engine and check that the MIL is not illuminated and that the idle speed is within the specified range when the A/C is switched off after the engine is warmed up.
Standard:
NOTICE:
- Be sure to perform this step with all accessories off.
- Make sure that the shift lever is in N or P.
(e) Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Data List / Throttle Pos. Sensor Output. Fully depress the accelerator pedal and check that the value is 60% or more.
(f) Perform a road test and confirm that there are no abnormalities.
