B2780 - Push Switch / Key Unlock Warning Switch Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

This DTC will be output if the transponder key ECU does not detect that the unlock warning switch is ON even when the ignition switch is in the ON position. Under normal conditions, the unlock warning switch is ON when the ignition switch is in the ON position.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
If the transponder key ECU is replaced, register the key and ECU communication ID.

PROCEDURE

1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM

(a) Connect a Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the ignition switch to ON.

(c) Turn the tester ON.

(d) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Immobiliser / Data List.

(e) According to the display on tester, read the "Data List".

Immobiliser:





OK:

ON (Key is in ignition key cylinder) appears on the screen.

NG -- INSPECT UNLOCK WARNING SWITCH

OK -- REPLACE TRANSPONDER KEY ECU Removal

2. INSPECT UNLOCK WARNING SWITCH

(a) Remove the unlock warning switch Removal.





(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance:





(c) Reinstall the unlock warning switch.

NG -- REPLACE UNLOCK WARNING SWITCH Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (UNLOCK WARNING SWITCH - BODY GROUND)

(a) Disconnect the E21 unlock warning switch connector.

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.





Standard resistance:





(c) Reconnect the unlock warning switch connector.

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TRANSPONDER KEY ECU - UNLOCK WARNING SWITCH)

(a) Disconnect the E79 transponder key ECU connector.





(b) Disconnect the E21 unlock warning switch connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance:





(d) Reconnect the transponder key ECU connector.

(e) Reconnect the unlock warning switch connector.

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK -- REPLACE TRANSPONDER KEY ECU Removal
