Removal





1GR-FE INTAKE: INTAKE MANIFOLD: REMOVAL

1. DISCHARGE FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE Removal

2. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT Service and Repair

3. REMOVE V-BANK COVER

(a) Raise the front of the V-bank cover to disengage the 2 pins.





(b) Remove the 2 V-bank cover hooks from the bracket.

(c) Remove the V-bank cover.

4. REMOVE AIR CLEANER HOSE ASSEMBLY

(a) Disconnect the ventilation hose and vacuum hose.





(b) Disengage the wire harness clamp.

(c) Remove the bolt.

(d) Loosen the 2 hose clamps.

(e) Remove the air cleaner hose assembly.

5. REMOVE INTAKE AIR SURGE TANK

(a) Disconnect the No. 4 water by-pass hose.





(b) Disconnect the No. 5 water by-pass hose.

(c) Disconnect the throttle body connector.





(d) Disconnect the No. 1 fuel vapor feed hose.





(e) Disconnect the No. 1 vacuum switching valve connector.

(f) Disconnect the No. 1 ventilation hose.





(g) Disconnect the 2 heater water hose clamps.





(h) Remove the 2 bolts and throttle body bracket.





(i) Using a clip remover, disengage the wire harness clamp.





(j) Remove the 2 bolts and No. 1 surge tank stay.

(k) Remove the 2 bolts and No. 2 surge tank stay.





(l) Remove the 2 nuts.

(m) Using an 8 mm socket hexagon wrench, remove the 4 bolts and the intake air surge tank.

(n) Remove the gasket.

6. REMOVE REAR CYLINDER HEAD COVER Removal

7. DISCONNECT NO. 1 FUEL PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

8. DISCONNECT NO. 2 FUEL PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

9. REMOVE FUEL DELIVERY PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

10. REMOVE INTAKE MANIFOLD

(a) Remove the 4 nuts, 6 bolts and intake manifold.





(b) Remove the 2 gaskets.
