DESCRIPTION

The back door ECU receives lock/unlock signals and activates the door lock motor accordingly.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM

(a) Connect a Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the ignition switch to ON.

(c) Turn the tester ON.

(d) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Back Door / Active Test.

(e) According to the display on tester, perform the "Active Test".

Back door:

Result:

B -- INSPECT BACK DOOR LOCK CYLINDER
A -- Continue to next step.

2. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM)

(a) Use a Techstream to check DTC output.

Result:

B -- INSPECT BACK DOOR LOCK

A -- GO TO DTC CHART B1287

3. INSPECT BACK DOOR LOCK CYLINDER

(a) Remove the back door lock cylinder Disassembly.

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance:

(c) Reinstall the the back door lock cylinder.

NG -- REPLACE BACK DOOR LOCK CYLINDER Disassembly
OK -- Continue to next step.

4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BACK DOOR LOCK CYLINDER - BACK DOOR ECU)

(a) Disconnect the S5 back door ECU connector.

(b) Disconnect the S7 back door lock cylinder connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance:

(d) Reconnect the back door ECU connector.

(e) Reconnect the back door lock cylinder connector.

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK -- REPLACE BACK DOOR ECU Disassembly

5. INSPECT BACK DOOR LOCK

(a) Remove the back door lock Removal.

(b) Apply the battery voltage to the door lock motor and check the operation of the door lock motor.

Standard:

NG -- REPLACE BACK DOOR LOCK Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.

6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAIN BODY ECU - BACK DOOR LOCK)

(a) Disconnect the 1F main body ECU connector.

(b) Disconnect the S4 back door lock connector.

(c) Disconnect the S5 back door ECU connector.

(d) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance:

(e) Reconnect the main body ECU connector.

(f) Reconnect the back door lock connector.

(g) Reconnect the back door ECU connector.

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK -- REPLACE BACK DOOR ECU Disassembly
