Removal





2GR-FXE LUBRICATION: OIL PUMP: REMOVAL

1. REMOVE ENGINE ASSEMBLY

2. INSTALL ENGINE TO ENGINE STAND Removal

3. REMOVE V-RIBBED BELT Removal

4. REMOVE ELECTRIC INVERTER COMPRESSOR ASSEMBLY Removal

5. REMOVE ENGINE WIRE Removal

6. REMOVE ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET RH Removal

7. REMOVE EGR DELIVERY CHAMBER Removal

8. REMOVE IGNITION COIL ASSEMBLY Removal

9. REMOVE PURGE VSV

(a) Remove the bolt and purge VSV.

10. REMOVE NO. 8 WATER BY-PASS HOSE





(a) Remove the No. 8 water by-pass hose from the inlet water pipe.

11. REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE MOUNTING STAY RH Removal

12. REMOVE NO. 2 TIMING GEAR COVER Removal

13. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET LH Disassembly

14. REMOVE V-RIBBED BELT TENSIONER ASSEMBLY Removal

15. REMOVE NO. 1 OIL PIPE Disassembly

16. REMOVE OIL PIPE Disassembly

17. REMOVE WATER INLET HOUSING





(a) Disconnect the No. 1 water by-pass hose from the water inlet housing.

(b) Disconnect the water hose.

(c) Remove the 2 bolts, nut and water inlet housing.

(d) Remove the gasket and O-ring.





18. REMOVE CYLINDER HEAD COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY Disassembly

19. REMOVE CYLINDER HEAD COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY LH Disassembly

20. REMOVE OIL COOLER PIPE

(a) Remove the 2 bolts, 4 nuts and oil cooler pipe.





(b) Remove the 2 gaskets.

21. REMOVE NO. 2 OIL PAN SUB-ASSEMBLY Disassembly

22. REMOVE OIL STRAINER SUB-ASSEMBLY Disassembly

23. REMOVE OIL PAN SUB-ASSEMBLY Disassembly

24. REMOVE CRANKSHAFT PULLEY Removal

25. REMOVE TIMING CHAIN COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the 23 bolts and 2 nuts shown in the illustration.

(b) Remove the timing chain cover by prying between the timing chain cover and cylinder head or cylinder block with a screwdriver.

NOTICE:
Be careful not to damage the contact surfaces of the cylinder head, cylinder block and chain cover.

HINT
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

(c) Remove the gasket.





26. REMOVE TIMING CHAIN COVER OIL SEAL

(a) Using a screwdriver, pry out the oil seal.
