INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (REAR BLOWER MOTOR)

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the ignition switch to ON and turn the Techstream main switch on.

(c) Select the item below in the Active Test, and then check that the rear blower with fan motor sub-assembly operates.

Active Test / Air Conditioner

Result:

C -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE Air Conditioning System (For Automatic Air Conditioning System)

B -- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER - BLOWER MOTOR CONTROL)
A -- Continue to next step.

2. INSPECT FUSE (RR CLR)

(a) Remove the RR CLR H-fuse from the engine room relay block.

(b) Measure the resistance of the H-fuse.

Standard resistance:

NG -- REPLACE FUSE
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. INSPECT REAR BLOWER WITH FAN MOTOR SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Disconnect the N10 motor connector.

(b) Connect a battery positive (+) lead to terminal 2 and a negative (-) lead to terminal 1, then check that the rear blower motor operates smoothly.

OK:

The rear blower with fan motor sub-assembly operates smoothly.

(c) Measure the current of the connector.

Standard current:

NG -- REPLACE REAR BLOWER WITH FAN MOTOR SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.

4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR BLOWER MOTOR - REAR BLOWER MOTOR CONTROL AND BODY GROUND)

(a) Disconnect the N11 rear motor control connector.

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance:

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR BLOWER MOTOR CONTROL - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND)

(a) Install the RR CLR H-fuse.

(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard voltage:

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance:

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER - BLOWER MOTOR CONTROL)

(a) Disconnect the D38 amplifier connector.

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance:

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

7. CHECK AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER

(a) Reconnect the D38 amplifier connector.

(b) Remove the air conditioning amplifier with its connectors still connected Removal.

(c) Check the waveform of the amplifier connector.

OK:

Waveform is as shown in the illustration.

HINT
The waveform varies with the blower level.

NG -- REPLACE AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER Removal

OK -- REPLACE BLOWER MOTOR CONTROL Removal
