Fuel Injector: Testing and Inspection
2GR-FXE FUEL: FUEL INJECTOR: INSPECTION
1. INSPECT FUEL INJECTOR ASSEMBLY
(a) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:
If the result is not as specified, replace the fuel injector assembly.
(b) Inspect the injection volume.
CAUTION:
This test involves high-pressure fuel and electricity. Take all precautions regarding safe handling of both the fuel and the electricity. Perform this test in a safe area and avoid any sparks or flames. Do not smoke.
(1) Connect SST to the fuel filter.
SST : 09268-31012
09268-41500

(2) Install the O-ring to the fuel injector.
(3) Install SST and a tube to the fuel injector.

(4) Put the injector into a graduated cylinder.
CAUTION:
Install a strong rubber tube to the injector to prevent gasoline from splashing.
(5) Operate the fuel pump Fuel System.
(6) Connect SST (wire) to the injector assembly and battery for 15 seconds and measure the injection volume with the graduated cylinder. Test each injector 2 or 3 times.
SST : 09842-30080
Standard injection volume:
76 to 91 cc (4.6 to 5.6 cu.in.) every 15 seconds
Difference between each injector:
15 cc (0.9 cu.in.) or less

NOTICE:
Always switch the voltage on and off at the battery, not at the injector.
If the injection volume is not as specified, replace the injector assembly.
(c) Check for leakage.
(1) Disconnect the tester probes of SST (wire) from the battery and check for fuel leaks from the injector.
Standard fuel leakage:
1 drop or less every 34 minutes
