BRAKE CONTROL: BRAKE PEDAL STROKE SENSOR: REMOVAL
NOTICE:
While the battery is connected, even if the ignition switch is off, the brake control system activates when the brake pedal is depressed or any door courtesy switch turns on. Therefore, when servicing the brake system components, do not operate the brake pedal or open/close the doors while the battery is connected.
1. REMOVE DECK BOARD ASSEMBLY Removal
2. REMOVE BATTERY SERVICE HOLE COVER ASSEMBLY Removal
3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
(a) Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.
4. REMOVE DRIVER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY
Removal
5. REMOVE BRAKE PEDAL STROKE SENSOR
(a) Disconnect the sensor connector.
(b) Remove the 2 bolts and brake pedal stroke sensor.
NOTICE:
Do not drop the sensor. If the sensor has been dropped, replace the brake pedal stroke sensor with a new one.
