DESCRIPTION

Upon receiving signals from the switches, the main body ECU illuminates the lights.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (ILLUMINATION LIGHT)

(a) Connect the Techstream to DLC3.

(b) Turn the ignition switch to ON.

(c) Turn the Techstream on.

(d) Turn the room light switch to the DOOR position.

(e) All doors closed (courtesy light switches OFF).

(f) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Body / Active Test / Illuminated Entry System.

(g) Check the illumination lights while operating the main body ECU using the Techstream.

Main Body





OK:

The illuminated entry system operates normally when operating it through the Techstream.

A -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE Interior Lighting System

2. INSPECT FUSE (DOME)

(a) Remove the DOME fuse from the engine room relay block.





(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





(c) Reinstall the DOME.

NG -- REPLACE FUSE
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DOME FUSE - MAIN BODY ECU)

(a) Disconnect the DD main body ECU connector.





(b) measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Voltage:





(c) Reconnect the main body ECU connector.

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK -- REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU

4. INSPECT TRANSPONDER KEY AMPLIFIER (IGNITION KEY CYLINDER LIGHT)

(a) Remove the transponder key amplifier (ignition key cylinder light) Removal.





(b) Connect the battery positive (+) lead to terminal 2 (ILL+) and the negative (-) lead to terminal 6 (ILL-), and then check that the light turns on.

OK:





(c) Reinstall the transponder key amplifier (ignition key cylinder light).

NG -- REPLACE TRANSPONDER KEY AMPLIFIER Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.

5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (IGNITION KEY CYLINDER LIGHT - BATTERY)

(a) Disconnect the H27 transponder key amplifier (ignition key cylinder light) connector.





(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Voltage:





(c) Reconnect the transponder key amplifier (ignition key cylinder light) connector.

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (IGNITION KEY CYLINDER LIGHT - MAIN BODY ECU)

6. INSPECT FOOT LIGHT

(a) Remove the foot light Removal.





(b) Connect the battery positive (+) lead to terminal 2 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 1, and then check that the light turns on.

OK:





(c) Reinstall the foot light.

NG -- REPLACE FOOT LIGHT Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.

7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FOOT LIGHT - BATTERY)

(a) Disconnect the H60 foot light connector.





(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Voltage:





(c) Reconnect the foot light connector.

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (FOOT LIGHT - MAIN BODY ECU)

8. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (ILLUMINATED ENTRY)

(a) Connect the Techstream to DLC3.

(b) Turn the ignition switch to ON.

(c) Turn the Techstream on.

(d) Turn the room light switch DOOR position.

(e) All doors closed (courtesy light switches OFF).

(f) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Body / Active Test / Illuminated Entry System.

(g) Check the illumination lights while operating the main body ECU using the Techstream.

OK:

The illuminated entry system operates normally when operating it through the Techstream.

D -- INSPECT NO. 2 ROOM LIGHT ASSEMBLY

C -- INSPECT No. 1 ROOM LIGHT ASSEMBLY

B -- INSPECT ROOF CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY (PERSONAL LIGHT)
A -- Continue to next step.

9. INSPECT INTERIOR DOME LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the interior dome light switch assembly Removal.





(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





(c) Reinstall the interior room light switch assembly.

NG -- REPLACE INTERIOR DOME LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.

10. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ROOM LIGHTS - INTERIOR DOME LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY)

(a) Disconnect the J7 interior dome light switch assembly connector.





(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Voltage:





(c) Reconnect the interior room light switch assembly connector.

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (INTERIOR DOME LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY - MAIN BODY ECU)

11. INSPECT ROOF CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY (PERSONAL LIGHT)

(a) Remove the roof console box assembly.





* for short type roof console box Disassembly.

* for long type roof console box Disassembly.

(b) Roof console box (personal light) switch is DOOR position.

(c) Connect the battery positive (+) lead to terminal 2 (B) and the negative (-) lead to terminal 1 (CTY), and then check that the light turns on.

OK:





(d) Reinstall the roof console box assembly.

12. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ROOF CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY - DOME FUSE)

(a) Disconnect the U7 roof console box assembly connector.





(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Voltage:





(c) Reconnect the roof console box assembly connector.

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (ROOF CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY - ROOM LIGHT SWITCH)

13. INSPECT No. 1 ROOM LIGHT ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the No. 1 room light assembly.





* w/o rear seat entertainment system Removal

* w/ rear seat entertainment system Removal

(b) No. 1 room light switch is DOOR position.

(c) Connect the battery positive (+) lead to terminal 1(B) and the negative (-) lead to terminal 3 (CTY), and then check that the light turns on.

OK:

(d) Reinstall the No. 1 room light assembly.

14. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NO. 1 ROOM LIGHT ASSEMBLY - DOME FUSE)

(a) Disconnect the U6*1 or U8*2 No. 1 room light assembly connector.





*1: w/o Rear seat entertainment system

*2: w/ Rear seat entertainment system

(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Voltage:

(c) Reconnect the No. 1 room light assembly connector.

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (NO. 1 ROOM LIGHT ASSEMBLY - ROOM LIGHT SWITCH)

15. INSPECT NO. 2 ROOM LIGHT ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the No. 2 room light assembly Removal.





(b) No. 2 room light switch is OFF position.

(c) Connect the battery positive (+) lead to terminal 1 (B) and the negative (-) lead to terminal 3 (CTY), and then check that the light turns on.

OK:





(d) Reinstall the No. 2 room light assembly.

NG -- REPLACE NO. 2 ROOM LIGHT ASSEMBLY Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.

16. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NO. 2 ROOM LIGHT ASSEMBLY - DOME FUSE)

(a) Disconnect the U9 No. 2 room light assembly connector.





(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Voltage:





(c) Reconnect the No. 2 room light assembly connector.
