DESCRIPTION
The security courtesy switch is installed together with the hood lock. This switch turns off when the engine hood is opened and turns on when the engine hood is closed.

1. INSPECT SECURITY COURTESY SWITCH
(a) Remove the security courtesy switch Removal.
(b) Disconnect the A42 security courtesy switch connector.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:

NG -- REPLACE SECURITY COURTESY SWITCH Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.
2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SECURITY COURTESY SWITCH - BODY GROUND)
(a) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAIN BODY ECU - SECURITY COURTESY SWITCH)
(a) Remove the main body ECU from the instrument panel junction block assembly Removal.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
