INTERIOR PANELS / TRIM: ROOF HEADLINING: REMOVAL
1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.
2. REMOVE TELEVISION DISPLAY ASSEMBLY (w/ Rear Seat Entertainment System)
Removal
3. REMOVE DOOR SCUFF PLATE ASSEMBLY RH
(a) Disengage the 12 claws and remove the door scuff plate.
4. REMOVE DOOR SCUFF PLATE ASSEMBLY LH
HINT
Use the same procedure as for the RH side.
5. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD RH
(a) Disengage the claw and 2 clips and remove the cowl side trim board.
6. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD LH
HINT
Use the same procedure as for the RH side.
7. SEPARATE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP RH
8. SEPARATE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH
9. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH
NOTICE:
* Install a protective cover onto the curtain shield airbag as soon as the front pillar garnish is removed.
* Replace the front pillar garnish clip with a new one when the front pillar garnish is removed.
(a) Using a moulding remover, pull the upper part of the garnish toward the inside of the cabin and disengage the 2 clips.

(b) Cut off clip A.
(c) Disengage the 3 guides and remove the front pillar garnish RH.
(d) Remove clip A from the vehicle body.
(e) Disconnect the connectors.
(f) Protect the curtain shield airbag assembly.

(1) Cover the airbag with a cloth or piece of nylon and secure the ends of the cover with tape, as shown in the illustration.
NOTICE:
Cover the curtain shield airbag with a protective cover as soon as the front pillar garnish is removed.
10. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH

Use the same procedure as for the RH side.
11. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR LOWER GARNISH RH
(a) Disengage the 2 claws and remove the front pillar lower garnish.
12. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR LOWER GARNISH LH
HINT
Use the same procedure as for the RH side.
13. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH
(a) Disengage the 3 claws and 2 clamps and remove the rear door scuff plate.
14. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH
HINT
Use the same procedure as for the RH side.
15. SEPARATE SLIDE DOOR WEATHERSTRIP RH
16. SEPARATE SLIDE DOOR WEATHERSTRIP LH
17. REMOVE BACK DOOR SCUFF PLATE
(a) Disengage the 2 claws and separate the flap.
(b) Remove the bolt.
(c) Disengage the 2 claws and remove the hook cover assembly.
HINT
Use the same procedure for the other 2 hook covers.
(d) Disengage the 6 clips and 2 guides and remove the back door scuff plate.
18. SEPARATE BACK DOOR WEATHERSTRIP
19. REMOVE ROOF HEADLINING REAR GARNISH
(a) Disengage the 2 claws and the 6 clips and remove the roof headlining rear garnish.
20. REMOVE CENTER PILLAR LOWER GARNISH RH
(a) Disengage the 3 claws and remove the anchor cover.
(b) Remove the bolt and disconnect the front seat outer belt on the floor anchor side.
(c) Disengage the 4 claws and the 2 clips and remove the pillar lower garnish.
21. REMOVE CENTER PILLAR LOWER GARNISH LH
HINT
Use the same procedure as for the RH side.
22. REMOVE CENTER PILLAR UPPER GARNISH RH
(a) Using a moulding remover, disengage the 4 claws and remove the power slide door control switch (w/ power slide door).

(b) Disconnect the connector (w/ power slide door).
(c) Remove the screw.
(d) Disengage the 2 clips and remove the center pillar upper garnish.
23. REMOVE CENTER PILLAR UPPER GARNISH LH
HINT
Use the same procedure as for the RH side.
24. SEPARATE REAR NO. 2 SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY RH
(a) Disengage the 3 claws and remove the anchor cover.
(b) Remove the bolt and separate the rear No. 2 seat belt on the floor anchor side.
(c) Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the 2 claws and remove the anchor cover.
(d) Remove the bolt and the shoulder anchor.
25. SEPARATE REAR NO. 2 SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY LH
HINT
Use the same procedure as for the RH side.
26. REMOVE QUARTER TRIM PANEL ASSEMBLY RH
(a) Disengage the 9 claws and 9 clips.
(b) Disconnect the connectors and remove the quarter trim panel RH.
27. REMOVE QUARTER TRIM PANEL ASSEMBLY LH
(a) Disengage the 11 claws and 9 clips.
(b) Disconnect the connectors and remove the quarter trim panel LH.
28. REMOVE REAR NO. 2 WINDOW SIDE GARNISH ASSEMBLY RH
(a) Disengage the 8 claws and remove the belt hole cover.
(b) Depress the center portion of the trim hook, disengage the 2 claws, and remove the trim hook.
(c) Disengage the 5 clips.
(d) Disconnect the connectors and remove the rear No. 2 window side garnish RH.
29. REMOVE REAR NO. 2 WINDOW SIDE GARNISH ASSEMBLY LH
(a) Depress the center portion of the trim hook, disengage the 2 claws, and remove the trim hook.
(b) Disengage the 5 clips and guide and remove the rear No. 2 window side garnish LH.
30. REMOVE QUARTER LOCK PILLAR GARNISH RH
(a) Disengage the 2 claws and remove the anchor cover (w/ rear No. 1 seat belt).
(b) Remove the bolt and separate the rear No. 1 seat outer belt (w/ rear No. 1 seat belt).
(c) Disengage the 3 claws and separate the cover.
(d) Remove the bolt.
(e) Disengage the 4 clips and remove the quarter lock pillar garnish.
31. REMOVE QUARTER LOCK PILLAR GARNISH LH
HINT
Use the same procedure as for the RH side.
32. REMOVE ASSIST GRIP SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Disengage the 4 claws and remove the 2 assist grip covers.
(b) Disengage the 2 clips and remove the assist grip.
(c) Remove the 2 clips from the vehicle body.
HINT
Use the same procedure for the other assist grip.
33. REMOVE REAR ASSIST GRIP ASSEMBLY
(a) Disengage the 4 claws and remove the 2 assist grip covers.
(b) Disengage the 2 clips and remove the assist grip.
(c) Remove the 2 clips from the vehicle body.
HINT
Use the same procedure for the other 3 rear assist grips.
34. REMOVE VISOR ASSEMBLY RH

(a) Using a moulding remover, disengage the 4 claws and remove the visor cover.
(b) Using a T20 "TORX" socket wrench, remove the 3 screws.
(c) Disconnect the connector and remove the visor assembly.
35. REMOVE VISOR ASSEMBLY LH

Use the same procedure as for the RH side.
36. REMOVE VISOR HOLDER
(a) Using a T20 "TORX" socket wrench, remove the screw and the visor holder.
37. REMOVE ROOF CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY Removal
38. REMOVE PERSONAL LIGHT (w/o Roof Console Box Assembly) Removal
39. REMOVE NO. 6 REAR AIR DUCT
(a) Remove the 2 bolts and outer belt anchor bracket.
(b) Disengage the 2 claws and remove the cooler plate.
(c) Remove the No. 6 rear air duct.
40. REMOVE ROOF HEADLINING ASSEMBLY
(a) Disconnect the connectors.
(b) Disconnect the 2 washer hoses.
(c) Using a clip remover, disengage the 3 clips and remove the roof headlining assembly.
(d) Using a clip remover, disengage the clip and remove the roof headlining assembly (w/ rear sliding roof).
(e) Remove the roof headlining assembly from the vehicle through the back door.
NOTICE:
Do not damage the roof headlining assembly or body interior.
