DESCRIPTION

When a signal is input into the front power seat switch (position ECU), the ECU manages the signals received from the front power seat switch and operates each motor. When 2 or more signals are input, the motors only operate when the signals are from the slide switch and reclining switch.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

(a) Use the Techstream to check if the CAN communication system is functioning normally How to Proceed With Troubleshooting.

OK:

CAN communication DTC is not output.

NG -- GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM CAN Communication System
OK -- Continue to next step.

2. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH)

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the engine switch on (IG).

(c) Turn the Techstream on.

(d) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Driver Seat / Data List.

(e) According to the display on the Techstream, read the Data List.

OK:

ON or OFF is displayed on the Techstream according to the table above.

NG -- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH POWER SOURCE)
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (POWER SEAT MOTOR)

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the engine switch on (IG).

(c) Turn the Techstream on.

(d) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Driver Seat / Active Test.

(e) According to the display on the Techstream, perform the Active Test.

Driver Seat





OK:

The power seat motors operate normally.

NG -- INSPECT SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SPRING ASSEMBLY LH

OK -- REPLACE FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH LH Disassembly

4. INSPECT SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SPRING ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Remove the separate type front seat cushion spring assembly LH Disassembly.

(b) Check operation of the slide motor.





(1) Check if the seat moves smoothly when the battery is connected to the slide motor connector terminals.

(c) Check operation of the front vertical motor.





(1) Check if the seat moves smoothly when the battery is connected to the front vertical motor connector terminals.

(d) Check operation of the lifter motor.





(1) Check if the seat moves smoothly when the battery is connected to the lifter motor connector terminals.

(e) Reinstall the separate type front seat cushion spring assembly LH.

NG -- REPLACE SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SPRING ASSEMBLY LH Disassembly
OK -- Continue to next step.

5. INSPECT SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEATBACK SPRING ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Remove the separate type front seatback spring assembly LH Disassembly.

(b) Check operation of the reclining motor.





(1) Check if the seatback moves smoothly when the battery is connected to the reclining motor connector terminals.

(c) Reinstall the separate type front seatback spring assembly LH.

NG -- REPLACE SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEATBACK SPRING ASSEMBLY LH Disassembly
OK -- Continue to next step.

6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH - SEAT MOTOR)

(a) Disconnect the Y8 front power seat switch LH connector.

(b) Disconnect the Y12, Y11, Y10 or d3 seat motor connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





(d) Reconnect the seat motor connector.

(e) Reconnect the front power seat switch LH connector.

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK -- REPLACE FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH LH Disassembly

7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH POWER SOURCE)

(a) Disconnect the Y9 front power seat switch LH connector.





(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
