Removal





SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEMS: CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY: REMOVAL

CAUTION:
Some of these service operations affect the SRS airbag system. Read the precautionary notices concerning the SRS airbag system before servicing Service Precautions.

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.

2. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY (for Slide Type)

3. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY (for Fixed Type)

4. REMOVE INSTRUMENT LOWER CENTER COVER (w/ Console Box) Removal

5. REMOVE INSTRUMENT LOWER CENTER COVER (w/o Console Box) Removal

6. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL END RH Removal

7. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL END LH Removal

8. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH LOWER CENTER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

9. REMOVE REAR NO. 1 AIR DUCT

(a) Disengage the 6 claws to remove the rear No. 1 air duct.





10. REMOVE REAR NO. 3 AIR DUCT

(a) Disengage 6 claws to remove the rear No. 3 air duct.





11. REMOVE CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY

CAUTION:
Confirm that the negative battery terminal is disconnected before performing the operation. Even an impact to only the airbag sensor will cause the airbag to deploy.

(a) Pull the lever down and detach the connector holder.

12. REMOVE AIRBAG SENSOR BRACKET
