SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEMS: SEAT POSITION SENSOR: REMOVAL

CAUTION:
Some of these service operations affect the SRS airbag system. Read the precautionary notices concerning the SRS airbag system before servicing Service Precautions.

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.

2. REMOVE RECLINING ADJUSTER RELEASE HANDLE LH (for Manual Seat) Disassembly

3. REMOVE VERTICAL ADJUSTING HANDLE (for Manual Seat) Disassembly

4. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD LH (for Manual Seat) Disassembly

5. REMOVE SEAT POSITION SENSOR (for Manual Seat)

(a) Disconnect the connector.





(b) Separate the wire harness from the seat slide position sensor protector.

(c) Using a T30 "TORX" socket wrench, remove the screw and seat position sensor with the seat slide position sensor protector.

6. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY LH (for Power Seat) Removal

7. REMOVE NO. 1 FRONT SEAT INNER CUSHION SHIELD (for Power Seat) Disassembly

8. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION INNER SHIELD RH (for Power Seat) Disassembly

9. REMOVE SEAT POSITION SENSOR (for Power Seat)

(a) Disconnect the connector.





(b) Separate the wire harness from the seat slide position sensor protector.

(c) Using a T30 "TORX" socket wrench, remove the screw, nut and seat position sensor with the seat slide position sensor protector.

10. REMOVE SEAT SLIDE POSITION SENSOR PROTECTOR

(a) Remove the seat slide position sensor protector as shown in the illustration.
