1AR-FE LUBRICATION: ENGINE OIL COOLER: INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL OIL COOLER ASSEMBLY

(a) Clean the oil cooler contact surface on the cooler mounting.

(b) Apply a light coat of engine oil to 3 new gaskets.

(c) Install the 3 new gaskets to the oil cooler.

(d) Temporarily install the oil cooler with the union bolt, nut and a new seal washer.

(e) Tighten the bolt and nut in several steps, in the sequence shown in the illustration.

Union Bolt - Torque : 60 Nm (612 kgf-cm, 44 ft-lbf)

Nut - Torque : 10 Nm (102 kgf-cm, 7 ft-lbf)
