2TR-FE ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM: CAMSHAFT OIL CONTROL VALVE: ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION

1. INSPECT CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY

(a) Check the operation.

(1) Warm up the engine.

(2) Turn the ignition switch off.

(3) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(4) Turn the ignition switch to ON.

(5) Turn the Techstream on.

(6) Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Active Test / Control the VVT System (Bank 1).

(7) Operate the OCV using the tester, then check the engine speed.

If the operation is not specified, check the camshaft timing oil control valve, wire harness and ECM.
