DESCRIPTION

Operation of the VSC OFF switch changes the vehicle from normal mode to TRAC OFF mode (AUTO LSD mode) to VSC OFF mode. During normal mode, pressing the VSC OFF switch for a short amount of time changes vehicle to TRAC OFF mode. When the vehicle is stopped, pressing the VSC OFF switch for 3 seconds or more changes the vehicle to VSC OFF mode. During VSC OFF mode, the combination meter's VSC OFF indicator light illuminate, and VSC, TRAC and AUTO LSD operation is disabled.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
When replacing the master cylinder solenoid, perform zero point calibration Vehicle Stability Control System (for Hydraulic Brake Booster).

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK SKID CONTROL ECU CONNECTOR

(a) Check the ECU connector's connecting condition.

OK:

The connector is securely connected.

NG -- CONNECT CONNECTOR CORRECTLY
OK -- Continue to next step.

2. INSPECT SKID CONTROL ECU (CSW TERMINAL)

(a) Disconnect the S1 skid control ECU connector.





(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





NG -- INSPECT TRACTION CONTROL SWITCH (VSC OFF SWITCH)
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. INSPECT SKID CONTROL ECU (EXI3 TERMINAL)

(a) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.





Standard Resistance:





NG -- INSPECT DIFFERENTIAL LOCK INDICATOR SWITCH
OK -- Continue to next step.

4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SKID CONTROL ECU - COMBINATION METER)

(a) Disconnect the C9 combination meter connector.





(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





(c) Reconnect the combination meter connector.

(d) Reconnect the skid control ECU connector.

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

5. INSPECT COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY

(a) Check the combination meter system Problem Symptoms Table.

OK:

Combination meter is normal.

NG -- REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY Removal

OK -- REPLACE MASTER CYLINDER SOLENOID Disassembly

6. INSPECT TRACTION CONTROL SWITCH (VSC OFF SWITCH)

(a) Remove the VSC OFF switch Removal.





(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





(c) Reinstall the VSC OFF switch.

NG -- REPLACE TRACTION CONTROL SWITCH Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.

7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (VSC OFF SWITCH CIRCUIT)

(a) Disconnect the T17 VSC OFF switch connector.





(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





(c) Reconnect the VSC OFF switch connector.

(d) Reconnect the skid control ECU connector.

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK -- REPLACE MASTER CYLINDER SOLENOID Disassembly

8. INSPECT DIFFERENTIAL LOCK INDICATOR SWITCH

(a) Remove the differential lock indicator switch.





(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





(c) Reinstall the differential lock indicator switch.

NG -- REPLACE DIFFERENTIAL LOCK INDICATOR SWITCH
OK -- Continue to next step.

9. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SKID CONTROL ECU - DIFFERENTIAL LOCK INDICATOR SWITCH)

(a) Disconnect the T13 differential lock indicator switch connector.





(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





(c) Reconnect the differential lock indicator switch connector.

(d) Reconnect the skid control ECU connector.

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK -- REPLACE MASTER CYLINDER SOLENOID Disassembly
