3UR-FE INTAKE: INTAKE MANIFOLD: INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL UNION TO CONNECTOR TUBE HOSE

(a) Install the tube hose to the intake manifold.





(b) Install the 2 wire harness brackets with the 2 bolts.

Torque : 8.0 Nm (82 kgf-cm, 71 in-lbf)

2. INSTALL PURGE VSV

(a) Connect the purge line hose to the intake manifold.





(b) Install the purge VSV to the intake manifold with the bolt.

Torque : 21 Nm (214 kgf-cm, 15 ft-lbf)

3. INSTALL VACUUM SWITCHING VALVE ASSEMBLY (for ACIS)

(a) Install the vacuum switching valve to the intake manifold with the bolt.

Torque : 9.0 Nm (92 kgf-cm, 80 in-lbf)





(b) Connect the 2 vacuum hoses to the vacuum switching valve.

4. INSTALL THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY

(a) Align the protrusion of a new gasket with the groove of the intake manifold, and install the gasket.





(b) Install the throttle body with the 4 bolts.





Torque : 10 Nm (102 kgf-cm, 7 ft-lbf)

5. INSTALL V-BANK COVER PIN

(a) Install the 2 pins to the intake manifold.





Torque : 10 Nm (102 kgf-cm, 7 ft-lbf)

6. INSTALL V-BANK COVER BRACKET

(a) Install the bracket with the 2 bolts.

Torque : 10 Nm (102 kgf-cm, 7 ft-lbf)





7. INSTALL VENTILATION HOSE ASSEMBLY

(a) Install the ventilation hose to the intake manifold with the 2 bolts.





for bolt A - Torque : 21 Nm (214 kgf-cm, 15 ft-lbf)

for bolt B - Torque : 10 Nm (102 kgf-cm, 7 ft-lbf)

8. INSTALL INTAKE MANIFOLD

(a) Place 2 new gaskets on the intake manifold.





(b) Place the intake manifold on the cylinder head.

(c) Install and uniformly tighten the 8 bolts and 2 nuts in several steps.





Torque : 21 Nm (214 kgf-cm, 15 ft-lbf)

(d) Install the wire bracket to the intake manifold with the bolt.





Torque : 8.0 Nm (82 kgf-cm, 71 in-lbf)

(e) Connect the 3 wire clamps to the 3 wire brackets.





(f) Connect the No. 1 tube and install it to the intake manifold with the 2 bolts.

Torque : 8.2 Nm (83 kgf-cm, 73 in-lbf)





(g) Connect the purge VSV connector.





(h) Connect the purge line hose to the purge VSV.

(i) Connect the vacuum switching valve connector (for ACIS).

(j) Install the No. 1 engine cover sub-assembly.





(k) Install the No. 3 engine cover.





(l) Connect the No. 1 ventilation hose.





(m) Connect the 2 water by-pass hoses.





(n) Connect the throttle body connector.

9. CONNECT VENTILATION HOSE ASSEMBLY

(a) Connect the ventilation hose to the ventilation pipe of the cylinder head cover LH and RH.





10. INSTALL AIR CLEANER HOSE ASSEMBLY

(a) Install the air cleaner hose with the 2 clamps.





Torque : 4.0 Nm (41 kgf-cm, 35 in-lbf)

(b) Connect the vacuum hose and ventilation hose.

11. INSTALL COWL TOP OUTER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Install the outer panel with the 7 bolts.





Torque : 7.5 Nm (76 kgf-cm, 66 in-lbf)

(b) Connect the 2 washer hoses.

12. INSTALL FRONT WIPER MOTOR AND LINK ASSEMBLY

(a) Install the front wiper motor and link Installation.

13. ADD ENGINE COOLANT Service and Repair

14. INSPECT FOR COOLANT LEAK Testing and Inspection

15. INSTALL V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Attach the 2 V-bank cover hooks to the bracket. Then align the 2 V-bank cover grommets with the 2 pins, and press down on the V-bank cover to attach the pins.





16. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER Replacement
