DESCRIPTION

* When the engine immobiliser system is set, the security indicator flashes continuously, but does not illuminate if the engine immobiliser system is not set.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
Before replacing the certification ECU, refer to Registration Engine Immobilizer System (w/ Smart Key System).

PROCEDURE

1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (SECURITY INDICATOR LIGHT)

(a) Check that the security indicator light illuminates when operating it with the Active Test Engine Immobilizer System (w/ Smart Key System).

OK:

Security indicator light can be turned on and off using the Techstream.

NG -- INSPECT TELLTALE LIGHT ASSEMBLY

OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE Engine Immobilizer System (w/ Smart Key System)

2. INSPECT TELLTALE LIGHT ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the telltale light assembly Removal.





(b) Apply battery voltage between the terminals of the telltale light assembly and check that the security indicator light illuminates.

OK:





NG -- REPLACE TELLTALE LIGHT ASSEMBLY Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TELLTALE LIGHT - CERTIFICATION ECU AND BODY GROUND)

(a) Disconnect the F32 light connector.

(b) Disconnect the F79 ECU connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK -- REPLACE CERTIFICATION ECU Removal
