Installation

1GR-FE COOLING: WATER PUMP: INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL WATER PUMP ASSEMBLY

(a) Install a new gasket and the water pump with the 17 bolts.





for bolt A - Torque : 47 Nm (479 kgf-cm, 35 ft-lbf)

for bolt B - Torque : 11 Nm (112 kgf-cm, 8 ft-lbf)

for bolt C - Torque : 23 Nm (235 kgf-cm, 17 ft-lbf)

2. INSTALL V-RIBBED BELT TENSIONER ASSEMBLY Installation

3. INSTALL COOLER COMPRESSOR ASSEMBLY

(a) Install the cooler compressor assembly Installation.

4. INSTALL GENERATOR ASSEMBLY

(a) Install the generator assembly Installation.

5. CONNECT VANE PUMP ASSEMBLY

(a) Connect the vane pump with the 2 bolts.

Torque : 43 Nm (438 kgf-cm, 32 ft-lbf)

(b) Attach the 2 wire harness clamps.

(c) Connect the 2 connectors.

6. INSTALL NO. 2 IDLER PULLEY SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) for Separate Type:

Install the 2 idler pulley cover plates, 2 No. 2 idler pulleys and 2 No. 2 idler pulley cover plates with the 2 bolts.

Torque : 54 Nm (551 kgf-cm, 40 ft-lbf)

(b) for Integrated Type:

Install the 2 No. 2 idler pulleys with the 2 bolts.

Torque : 54 Nm (551 kgf-cm, 40 ft-lbf)

7. INSTALL WATER INLET HOUSING





(a) Install a new O-ring to the water outlet pipe.

(b) Install a new gasket to the water pump.

(c) Apply soapy water to the gasket of the water outlet pipe.

(d) Install the water inlet with the 5 bolts.

Torque : 10 Nm (102 kgf-cm, 7 ft-lbf)

(e) Connect the 5 water by-pass hoses.

(f) Connect the No. 2 oil cooler hose.

(g) Connect the oil cooler hose.

(h) Connect the throttle body connector.

10. INSTALL RADIATOR RESERVOIR Installation

11. INSTALL NO. 2 RADIATOR HOSE Installation

12. INSTALL NO. 1 RADIATOR HOSE Installation

13. INSTALL V-BANK COVER Installation

14. ADD ENGINE COOLANT Service and Repair

15. INSPECT FOR ENGINE COOLANT LEAK Testing and Inspection

16. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY Installation

17. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER COVER LOWER Installation

18. INSTALL UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT SEAL Installation
