1AR-FE ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM: THROTTLE BODY: INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY

(a) Install a new gasket to the intake manifold.





(b) Install the fuel tube bracket with the bolt.





Torque : 7.5 Nm (76 kgf-cm, 66 in-lbf)

(c) Install the throttle body assembly with the 4 bolts.





Torque : 10 Nm (102 kgf-cm, 7 ft-lbf)

(d) Connect the 2 water by-pass hoses to the throttle body.





(e) Connect the throttle body assembly connector.





(f) Connect the fuel tube to the clamp.

2. INSTALL AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Connect the air-cleaner cap sub-assembly to the throttle body assembly and lock the hose band.





(b) Install the air cleaner cap sub-assembly with the 2 bolts.





Torque : 5.0 Nm (51 kgf-cm, 44 in-lbf)

(c) Connect the 2 vacuum hoses to the air cleaner cap sub-assembly.





(d) Connect the 2 vacuum hoses to the 2 hose clamps.

(e) Connect the hose to the air cleaner cap sub-assembly and the hose clamp.





(f) Connect the ventilation hose to the cylinder head cover.

(g) Connect the hose to the hose clamp.





(h) Connect the mass air flow meter connector.

3. INSTALL NO. 1 VACUUM SWITCHING VALVE Installation

4. ADD ENGINE COOLANT Service and Repair

5. INSPECT FOR COOLANT LEAK Testing and Inspection

6. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY Installation

7. INSTALL COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL Installation

8. INSTALL OUTER COWL TOP PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY Installation

9. INSTALL EJECTOR TUBE Installation

10. INSTALL WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR AND LINK

11. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER

12. PERFORM INITIALIZATION

NOTICE:
Perform the following procedure after replacing the ECM, throttle body assembly or any throttle body components. The following procedure should also be performed if the throttle body is cleaned.

(a) Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Wait at least 60 seconds and reconnect the cable.

(b) Turn the ignition switch to ON without operating the accelerator pedal.

NOTICE:
If the accelerator pedal is operated, perform the above steps again.

(c) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3 and clear the DTCs Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

(d) Start the engine and check that the MIL is not illuminated. After the engine is warmed up, check that the idle speed is within the specified range when the A/C is switched off.

Standard:





NOTICE:
* Be sure to perform this step with all accessories off.
* Make sure that the shift lever is in neutral.

(e) Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Data List / Throttle Sensor Position. Fully depress the accelerator pedal and check that the value is 60% or more.

(f) Perform a road test and confirm that there are no abnormalities.
