DESCRIPTION

The sliding roof system uses a LIN communication protocol on the multiplex communication system. Inspect the communication system by following HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING How To Proceed With Troubleshooting to ensure that there are no problems with the multiplex communication system before troubleshooting the sliding roof system. The sliding roof system prohibits the AUTO UP function if the jam protection function malfunctions. Check that there are no DTCs output before troubleshooting the sliding roof system. If any sliding roof system DTCs are output, perform troubleshooting on the output DTCs first.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. INSPECT FUSE (ALT, S/ROOF, ECU-IG NO. 1)

(a) Remove the ALT fuse form the engine room main relay block.

(b) Remove the S/ROOF and ECU-IG No. 1 fuses from the instrument panel junction block.

(c) Measure the resistance of the fuses.

Standard resistance:

Below 1 Ohms

NG -- REPLACE FUSE
OK -- Continue to next step.

2. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND)

(a) Disconnect the Q12 connector.





(b) Measure the voltage and resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard voltage:





Standard resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST BY TECHSTREAM (SLIDING ROOF OPERATION)

(a) Select the ACTIVE TEST, use the Techstream to generate a control command, and then check that the sliding roof slides open/close and tilts up/down Scan Tool Testing and Procedures.

Slide Roof:





OK:

Sliding roof operates normally.

OK -- Continue to next step.

4. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU)

(a) Use the DATA LIST to check if the sliding roof switch assembly is functioning properly Scan Tool Testing and Procedures.

5. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (SLIDING ROOF SWITCH ASSEMBLY)

(a) Use the DATA LIST to check if the sliding roof switch assembly is functioning properly Scan Tool Testing and Procedures.

6. INSPECT ROOF CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY (SLIDING ROOF SWITCH ASSEMBLY)

(a) Remove the roof console box assembly.





(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPLACE ROOF CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY (SLIDING ROOF SWITCH ASSEMBLY) Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.

7. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU - ROOF CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY)

(a) Remove the Q12 and Q1 connectors.





(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK -- REPLACE SLIDING ROOF DRIVE GEAR SUB-ASSEMBLY (SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU) Disassembly
