DESCRIPTION

The illuminated entry system controls the door mirror foot lights.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM

(a) Connect Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the ignition switch on (IG).

(c) Turn Techstream on.

(d) Select the following menu items: Body Electrical / Main Body / Active Test.

(e) Check the operation.

Main Body





OK:

Door mirror foot lights come on.

NG -- INSPECT MAIN BODY ECU (INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK)

OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedures

2. INSPECT MAIN BODY ECU (INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK)

(a) Disconnect the D7 main body ECU connector.





(b) Using a service wire, connect D7-4 of the wire harness side and body ground.

OK:

Door mirror foot lights come on.

NG -- INSPECT FUSE (G/H)

OK -- REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK)

3. INSPECT FUSE (G/H)

(a) Remove the G/H fuse from the engine room relay block.

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPLACE FUSE
OK -- Continue to next step.

4. INSPECT DOOR MIRROR FOOT LIGHT RELAY (MIR LP)

(a) Remove the door mirror foot light relay from the No. 2 engine room relay block.





(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPLACE DOOR MIRROR FOOT LIGHT RELAY
OK -- Continue to next step.

5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BATTERY - DOOR MIRROR FOOT LIGHT RELAY)

(a) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.





Standard voltage:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DOOR MIRROR FOOT LIGHT RELAY - MAIN BODY ECU)

(a) Disconnect the D7 main body ECU connector.





(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (DOOR MIRROR FOOT LIGHT RELAY - MAIN BODY ECU)

OK -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (DOOR MIRROR FOOT LIGHT RELAY - BODY GROUND)
