Water Pump: Service and Repair

Special Tools, Testers And Auxiliary Items
- VAG 1331 Torque wrench 5 to 50 Nm (4 to 37 ft lb)
- Punch
- VAG 1306 Drip tray

Removal
- Remove ribbed belt, refer to Drive Belts, Mounts, Brackets and Accessories found in the Engine Section.
- Drain coolant.
- Unscrew coolant pump mounting bolts through the holes in the pulley and remove coolant pump

Installation
Installation is performed in the reverse order of the removal procedure, when installing, note the following:
- Replace coolant pump O-ring
- Install ribbed belt.
- Fill with coolant, refer to Replacement. Service and Repair
