Component Notes And Information
NOTE:
^ During service procedures, refer to the illustration above and the information below.
^ Components marked with an * are checked by On Board Diagnostic
^ Components marked with ** are checked via Output Diagnostic Test Mode (DTM)
^ Secondary Air Injection pump relay -J299-**, refer to Fig. 1 below
1 Air port
- In cylinder head
2 0-ring
- Always replace
3 Connection
4 Bolt
- Tighten to: 15 Nm (11 ft lb)
5 0-ring
- Replace if damaged
6 Bolt
- Tighten to: 25 Nm (18 ft lb)
7 Bracket
- For Secondary Air Injection pump motor
- Mounted to intake manifold
8 Retainer
- For Secondary Air Injection solenoid valve
9 Bolt
- Tighten to: 10 Nm (7 ft lb)
10 2-pin harness connector
- Black for Secondary Air Injection solenoid valve
11 Vacuum pipe
- To junction piece between intake manifold and fuel pressure regulator
12 Secondary Air Injection Solenoid valve (-N112-) */**
13 2-pin harness connector
- Black
- For Secondary Air Injection pump motor
14 Secondary Air Injection pump motor (-V101-)**
15 intake hose
- Ensure that it is tightly seated
- From Air Cleaner upper section
16 Pressure hose
- Ensure that it is tightly seated
17 Gasket
- Always replace
18 Combi-valve
- Checking. Testing and Inspection
Combi-Valve, Removal/Installation
Removal
- Ensure that ignition is switched OFF
- Disconnect battery ground cable
CAUTION: Obtain radio anti-theft code before disconnecting the battery ground cable.
- Remove sound dampening tray
- Remove pressure hose -5- between combi-valve -1- and Secondary Air Injection pump -4-
- Disconnect vacuum hose -2- from combi-valve
- Unscrew combi-valve -1- from connection -3- and pull out
Installation
- Install in reverse order of removal procedure
