Airbag On Board Diagnostic (OBD), Initiating

- Scan Tool (ST) V.A.G 1551, connecting.
- Switch printer on via Print-button (indicator lamp in button illuminates).
- Switch on ignition.
- Press button - 1 - for "Rapid data transfer" mode.

Indicated on display:

Rapid data transfer HELP
Enter address word XX

- Press buttons - 1 - and - 5 - (15 is address word for vehicle system to be tested, "airbag").

Indicated on display:

Rapid data transfer Q
15 Airbag

- Press Q button to confirm input.

Indicated on display:

Select function XX

NOTE:
- If one of adjacent malfunction messages is indicated on display, print out possible malfunction causes via Help button.

Control module not responding.

- Ignition must be switched on.

K-wire is not switching to B+

- DTCs have occurred at start of or during program (external sources of DTCs?).

Rapid data transfer ->
No signal from control module.

- Check Data Link Connector, voltage supply and Ground (GND) connection.

Rapid data transfer ->
Malfunction in communication set-up

- After repairing potential malfunction causes, re-enter address word 15 for "airbag" and press Q-button to confirm.
