The prerequisites for selecting the desired functions can be taken from the table below.

NOTES:
- individually read values can be displayed in mode 7 but it is not recommended for WV specialist workshops because this data is more comprehensively available under Address word 01, Function 04 or Function 08.
- Mode 2 shows the operating conditions under which a malfunction was detected.
- Mode 3 checks DTC memory and Mode 4 erases DTC memory (diagnostic data).
- Mode 6 displays measured values of components and systems which are not being continually monitored.
- Mode 7 malfunctions (single recognition that has not yet tripped on the MIL lamp) can be activated by On Board Diagnostic. These are not compulsory malfunctions and there is no malfunction entry under Mode 3. Repeat the stored malfunctions under Mode 7, 50 they are entered under Mode 3 and erased under Mode 7.
