Reading Measuring Value Blocks

Function 08: Read measuring value blocks, overview

Special tools, testers, measuring instruments and auxiliary items required
- VAG 1551 Scan Tool using VAG 1551/3 adaptor cable

Test conditions
- Engine Coolant Temperature must be at least 85 °C

See Display group 04, display zone 3

- Switch OFF all electrical consumers, e.g. lights and rear window defroster
- Switch OFF A/C (if installed)
- Place Transmission Range selector in "P" or "N" position (vehicles with automatic transmission only)
- NO DTC's stored in DTC memory. Reading Diagnostic Trouble Codes

Work sequence
- Connect VAG 1551 Scan Tool (VAG 1552), [1][2][3]Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes
- Start engine and let idle
- Press 0 and 1 buttons to select "Address word" 01: "Engine electronics"
Display will appear as shown

Select Function XX


- Press 0 and 8 buttons to select Function 08 "Read measuring value block"
- Press Q button to enter input

Display will appear as shown

- Select required display group number.


NOTE: Display group number 0 is an example to illustrate the sequence.


- Press 0, 0 and 0 buttons to select "Display group 0"
- Press Q button to enter input

Display will appear as shown (1 to 10 = Display zones)

If the specifications in all display zones are obtained
- Press -> button.
