Air Cleaner Housing: Service and Repair

Air Cleaner:

1 - Harness connector
- Blacks, 2-pin
- For Positive Crankshaft Ventilation (PCV) heating element -N79-
- Check heating element voltage supply between terminals 1 and 2 with engine running:
Specified value: at least 11.5 V
2 - Intake hose
- With Positive Crankshaft Ventilation (PCV) heating element -N79- for crankcase breather
3 - Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor -G70-* with Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor -G42-*
- Checking -G70- Testing and Inspection
- Checking -G42- Testing and Inspection
- Sensor and harness connector terminals are gold plated
4 - Harness connector
- Black, 5-pin
- Sensor and harness connector terminals are gold plated
5 - Seal
- Replace if damaged
6 - Air cleaner upper section
7 - Air duct
- Clipped into air cleaner upper section
8 - 6 Nm (53 in.lb)
9 - Filter element
10 - Air cleaner lower section
11 - Air duct
12 - 10 Nm (7 ft lb)
13 - O-ring
- Replace if damaged
14 - Intake hose
- Make sure hose is seated tightly
- Press together at front to release
- To Secondary Injection Air (AIR) pump motor -V101-
- Servicing EVAP system
15 - Connecting hose
- To air lines for air shrouded fuel injectors
16 - Connecting hose
- For crankcase breather
- From breather housing on cylinder head cover
17 - Connecting hose
- From connecting hose on intake manifold upper section
18 - To throttle valve control module -J338-*
