Coolant Connection

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Drip tray (VAG 1306)

• Torque wrench (5 to 50 Nm) (VAG 1331)

Removing

- Drain the cooling system. Refer to --> [ Cooling System, Draining and Filling ] [1][2][3]Cooling System, Draining and Filling.

- Pull off coolant hoses from coolant connection.

- Disconnect connector from Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor (G62).

- Remove bolts from coolant connection.

- Slide cylinder connecting pieces in - direction of arrow - into coolant connection - 1 -.





Installing

Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal, noting the following:

- Always replace seals - 2 - and gaskets.





- Tighten bolts of coolant connection - 1 - to 8 Nm.

- Fill the cooling system. Refer to --> [ Cooling System, Draining and Filling ] [1][2][3]Cooling System, Draining and Filling.
