Coolant Thermostat
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Hose Clip Pliers (VAS 6340)
Removing
- Remove the noise insulation.
- Drain the coolant. Refer to => [ Draining and Filling ] Draining and Filling.
- Move the connector - A - to the side.
- Remove the coolant hoses - arrows - from the oil cooler and move them to the side.
- Remove the connecting piece bolts - arrows - and remove the connecting piece and coolant hose.
- Remove the coolant thermostat from the coolant pipe.
Installing
- Clean the sealing ring surface.
- Install the coolant thermostat into the coolant pipe.
• Installed position: the edges on the thermostat and coolant pipe must align - arrows -.
- Coat the new seal with coolant and install it in the coolant pipe.
- Install the connecting piece and tighten the bolts diagonally.
Tightening specification: 8 Nm.
- Install the coolant hoses - arrow - and connector - A -.
- Fill the cooling system. Refer to => [ Draining and Filling ] Draining and Filling.
- Install the noise insulation.
