Sealing Flange and Drive Plate Overview





1 Bolt

• 100 Nm + 180° (1/2) additional turn.

• Replace

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Vibration Damper ] Service and Repair.

2 Vibration Damper

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Vibration Damper ] Service and Repair.

3 Bolt

• 10 Nm

4 Sealing Flange

• Replacing, refer to => [ Sealing Flange, Vibration Damper Side ] Sealing Flange, Vibration Damper Side.

• Apply sealant (D 176 501 A1) to the sealing surfaces.

5 Cylinder Block

• Crankshaft overview. Refer to => [ Crankshaft Overview ] Crankshaft Overview.

• Piston and connecting rod overview. Refer to => [ Piston and Connecting Rod Overview ] Piston and Connecting Rod Overview.

6 Sealing Flange

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Sealing Flange, Transmission Side ] Service and Repair.

7 Seal

• Remove using pulling hook (T20143/2).

• Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) version of the oil seal.

• Do not lubricate or grease the sealing lip on the oil seal.

• Before installing, remove any remaining oil from crankshaft with a clean cloth.

• Installing, refer to => [ Sealing Flange Seal, Transmission Side ] Sealing Flange Seal, Transmission Side.

8 Shim

9 Bolt

• 60 Nm + 90° (1/4) additional turn.

• Replace

• To loosen or tighten, use counter hold tool (T10044) (with 5 mm spacers), or Counter holder tool (T10069).

10 Washer

11 Drive Plate

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Drive Plate ] Drive Plate.

12 Bolt

• 23 Nm
