Battery Tester with Printer, Testing Battery

CAUTION!
In order to prevent damage to the battery or vehicle, observe battery type descriptions and notes. Refer to => [ Battery with Charge Indicator ] Battery With Charge Indicator or => [ AGM Battery ] AGM Battery.

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Battery tester with printer (VAS 6161)

Testing the battery:

CAUTION!
Batteries that have a colorless or light yellow visual indicator do not have to be tested or charged. Jump starting must not be used!

There is a risk of explosion during testing, charging or jump starting.

These batteries must be replaced.

- Turn off the ignition and all electrical consumers.

- Check the visual indicator. Refer to => [ Battery with Visual Indicator, Checking ] Battery With Visual Indicator, Checking.

- Switch on the unit.

- Clamp the red clamp + of the tester to the positive terminal.

- Clamp the black clamp - on the tester to the negative terminal.

Make sure the test clamps make good contact!

- Select the following:

Maintenance test (only on new vehicles before becoming inventory, refer to => [ Battery Tester with Printer, Maintenance Test ] Battery Tester With Printer, Maintenance Test)

Service test, refer to => [ Battery Tester with Printer, Service Test ] Battery Tester With Printer, Service Test

Warranty test, refer to => [ Battery Tester with Printer, Warranty Test ] Battery Tester With Printer, Warranty Test

The test is over after approximately 10 seconds.

The results of the test are output through the printer.

It is not necessary to let the tester cool down before performing the next measurement.
