Shift Knob, Boot and Noise Insulation

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Hose Clamp Pliers (V.A.G 1275)

• Special Hook (3370)

Removing

- Open the ashtray.

- Remove the boot with plastic frame from the center console frame - 1 - - arrow -.

- Hold the center console frame securely - 1 -.

It must not be removed.

Connectors for various switched could be loosened unintentionally.





- Roll the boot up over the shift knob.

- Open the clamp - arrow - and remove the shift knob and boot.





- Remove the noise insulation.

Installing

- Install the noise insulation.

Noise Insulation, Installed Position





The arrow - A - is pointing in driving direction.

Notches - B arrows - must engage in the center console.

- Turn the inner side of the boot toward the outside.

The shift knob must be pressed on as far as the stop.

- Install the shift knob and boot and squeeze the new clamp together - arrow -.





- First, insert boot plastic frame at rear.
