Fuel Rail, Assembly Overview





1 Fuel injector

• With combustion chamber seal (Teflon seal), always replace

• Replace O-Rings

• Note correct installation position

• Removing and installing => [ Fuel Injectors, Removing and Installing ] Fuel Injectors, Removing and Installing

2 Support ring

3 Fuel rail

• Removing and installing => [ Fuel Rail, Separating from the Intake Manifold ] Intake Manifold With Fuel Rail, Removing and Installing

4 Mechanical single-piston high-pressure pump

• With Fuel Pressure Regulator Valve (N276)

• An electrical fuel pump, located in the fuel tank, supplies fuel to the mechanical high-pressure pump at a pressure of approximately 7 bar

• Make sure dirt does not enter the fuel system when installing the high pressure pump.

• The fuel system must be pressureless to install the high-pressure pump, releasing fuel pressure => [ Releasing Pressure in High Pressure Area ] Releasing Pressure In High Pressure Area

• Do not install fuel lines with tension

• Removing and installing => [ High Pressure Pump, Removing and Installing ] High Pressure Pump, Removing and Installing

5 Roller tappet

6 Fuel Pressure Regulator Valve (N276)

7 High pressure pump bolts

• Replace

• 10 Nm

8 Fuel supply line connectors

• Replace

• 22 Nm

9 Fuel supply line union nut

• 18 Nm

10 Channel separating plates

11 Gasket

• Replace

12 Intake manifold

• Removing and installing => [ Intake Manifold with Fuel Rail, Removing and Installing ] Intake Manifold With Fuel Rail, Removing and Installing

13 Vacuum diaphragm for the channel separating plate

• checking => [ Variable Intake Manifold, Checking ] Testing and Inspection

14 Throttle Valve Control Module (J338), Throttle Drive (for Electronic Power Control (EPC)) (G186)

• Throttle Drive Angle Sensor 1 (for Electronic Power Control (EPC)) (G187) and Throttle Drive Angle Sensor 2 (for Electronic Power Control (EPC)) (G188)

• after replacing Throttle Valve Control Module (J338), it must be readapted to Engine Control Module (ECM) (J623), "Guided Functions"

15 Intake manifold bolts

• Pretighten to 3 Nm, and then tighten to 9 Nm

16 Intake Manifold Runner Position Sensor (G336)

17 Fuel Pressure Sensor (G247)

• 22 Nm

• Coat the threads with clean engine oil.

• checking => [ Fuel Pressure Sensor, Checking ] Testing and Inspection

• Removing and installing => [ Fuel Pressure Sensor, Removing and Installing ] Service and Repair
