Torque Converter, Installing

- Carefully slide in torque converter hub through sealing ring up to first stop.

- Turn torque converter with light pressure toward transmission until recess of converter hub - arrow - engages in coupling plate of pump wheel and torque converter slides noticeably inward.





Torque converter is installed correctly when it can easily be turned by hand and is seated equally deep all around in transmission.

CAUTION!
If the torque converter is not properly installed, the drive lugs on the torque converter and the ATF pump will be severely damaged when the transmission is attached to the engine.
