Exhaust Flap, Checking

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Hand vacuum pump (VAS 6213)

Test Sequence

• Vacuum lines and hose connections free of leaks

• Vacuum lines not blocked or porous

- Disconnect the hose on the exhaust flap vacuum actuator

- Connect the (VAS 6213) to the vacuum actuator - A -.





- Set the slide ring - 1 - on the (VAS 6213 ) to position - A - for "vacuum".





- Generate pressure using the (VAS 6213) and watch the linkage.





• The linkage must move to the left and the exhaust flap - arrow - must close.

- Vent the (VAS 6213).

• The linkage must move to the left and the exhaust flap - arrow - must close.

If linkage does not move:

- Check the linkage for ease of movement and check the vacuum actuator for leaks.
