Catalytic Converters

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Engine/Transmission Jack (V.A.G 1383 A)

• Gearbox Support (T10337)

Removing

- Remove the carrier bolts - 1 - from the transmission carrier - 2 -.

- Support transmission as shown using Engine/Transmission Jack (V.A.G 1383 A) and installed Adapter (T10337).





- Completely remove the transmission carrier - 2 -.

- Remove the catalytic converters to primary catalytic converter nuts.

- Loosen the double clamp and slide it onto the center muffler.

- Disengage the catalytic converters at double clamps.

- Remove the catalytic converters.

CAUTION!
The (V.A.G 1383 A) should not be used for support during assembly. It should not stand unsupervised under the vehicle.

Installing

Assembly is performed in reverse order of removal.

- Note that all nuts and seals are to be replaced.
