Parking Assist Distance Sensor: Service and Repair
Rear Parking Aid Sensor, From 06.07
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Release Tool (T10345)
The following four sensors are located in rear bumper cover.
• Left Rear Parking Aid Sensor (G203)
• Left Rear Center Parking Aid Sensor (G204)
• Right Rear Center Parking Aid Sensor (G205)
• Right Rear Parking Aid Sensor (G206)
• The procedure for the removal and installation of the parking aid sensors is performed in the same way for all sensors and is only described for one sensor in the following.
Removal
• The parking aid sensor from 06.07 is installed in the Eos with an adapter so that it fits into the bracket.
- Switch off ignition, switch off all electrical consumers and remove ignition key.
- Remove rear bumper cover.
- Disengage retaining tabs - arrows - with (T10345) and remove sensor with connector connected from bumper cover.
- Press button - 2 - to disconnect harness connector - 3 - from sensor - 1 -.
- Remove the adapter - A - from the sensor in the direction of arrow.
Installation
Install in reverse order of removal, noting the following:
An incorrect or damaged coupling ring can lead to malfunctions.
Replace damaged coupling rings and ensure the correct ring is installed.
- If necessary, replace sensor seal (coupling ring).
- Check whether the correct seal (coupling ring) is installed. It must be a black silicone ring - 1 -.
• The primary function of the coupling ring is a correct coupling between the sensor membrane and the sensor bracket. An additional function is centering the sensor membrane in the corresponding sensor bracket.
- Check sensor for correct seating. Dimension - a - must be even all around.
