Removal and Replacement






Lock Carrier with Attachments

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Guide rod (T10093)

Torque wrench (V.A.G 1331)

Torque wrench (V.A.G 1332)

Removing

- Perform service position of lock carrier with attachments - 1 -. Refer to => [ Lock Carrier Service Position ] Lock Carrier Service Position.

- Disconnect the electrical harness connectors.

2.0 Liter

- Drain coolant and disconnect coolant lines.

2.5 Liter

- Drain coolant and disconnect coolant lines.

- Disconnect lines for condenser.

- With the aid a second technician, unscrew guide rod (T10093) on longitudinal member on left and right sides and lift out lock carrier - 1 -.


If lines for A/C system and/or for coolant are disconnected, the engine must not be started.

Do not hang condenser and power steering fluid cooler on hoses.

Lines for condenser and power steering must not be kinked.





Installing

Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal.

Make sure that all plug and hose connections are corrected installed when re-assembling.

- Align lock carrier at longitudinal members and between fenders.
