• Bracket with spindle and hook (10-222 A/10) (quantity 2)
• Shackle (10-222 A/12) (quantity 2)
• Adapter (10-222 A/13) (quantity 2)
• Torque wrench 5-50 Nm (VAG 1331)
• Torque wrench 40-200 Nm (VAG 1332)
Procedure
• If only the engine mount is being adjusted, then just one hook (10-222 A/10) will be sufficient. It is not necessary to remove the air filter, battery and battery plate.
- Remove the engine cover. Refer to --> [ Engine Cover ] Engine Cover.
- Remove the air filter. Refer to --> [ Air Filter ] Air Filter.
CAUTION!
Risk of destroying electrical components when battery is disconnected:
• Observe measures when disconnecting battery.
- With the ignition off, disconnect the battery ground cable - arrow -.
- Remove the battery, battery tray bolts - arrows - and tray.
- Remove the charge air pipe to noise generator. Refer to --> [ Charge Air Pipe to Noise Generator ] Service and Repair.
- Install the (10-222A) using the following tools:
• (10-222 A/10) (quantity 2)
• (10-222 A/12) (quantity 2)
• (10-222 A/13) (quantity 2)
- Install the (10-222 A/12) to both front brackets on the engine and hang the (10-222 A/10).
- Support the engine and transmission, do not lift it.
- Replace the engine mount to engine mount bracket bolts - arrows - one after the other (if the was not already performed with the engine was installed) and hand tighten.
With a Manual Transmission
- Replace the transmission mount bolts - arrows - one after the other (if the was not already performed with the engine was installed) and hand tighten.
With a DSG Transmission
- Replace the transmission mount bolts - arrows - one after the other (if the was not already performed with the engine was installed) and hand tighten.
Continuation for All
- Loosen the left and right mount bolts approximately 2 turns.
• There must be a distance - a - of at least 10 mm present between the engine mount bracket and right longitudinal member.
• Casting edge on the engine mount bracket - 2 - must stand parallel to the engine mount - 1 -.
With a Manual Transmission
- On the transmission side, the edges of transmission mount bracket - 1 - and transmission mount - 2 - are parallel.
• Dimension - x - is the same size on both sides of the bracket.
With a DSG Transmission
- On the transmission side, the edges of the transmission mount arm - 1 - and mount - 2 - are parallel.
• Dimension - x - is the same size on both sides of the mount.
Continuation for All
- Tighten the engine and transmission mount bolts. Refer to --> [ Engine and Transmission Mount Assembly Overview ] Service and Repair.
Further installation is performed in reverse order.
