Variable Valve Timing Actuator: Service and Repair

Camshaft Adjustment Valve 1

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Torque wrench 5-60 Nm (VAG 1783)

• Open end spanner insert AF 10 (VAG 1783/1)

Removing

- Remove the charge air pipe leading to the noise generator. Refer to --> [ Charge Air Pipe to Noise Generator ] Service and Repair.

- Disconnect the electrical connector from the camshaft adjustment valve 1 - 1 -.





- Remove the bolts - arrows - and remove the camshaft adjustment valve 1.

Installing

• Tightening specifications, refer to --> [ Timing Chain Covers Assembly Overview ] Timing Chain Covers Assembly Overview.

Install in reverse order of removal. When doing this note the following:

• Coat the seal and the O-ring with engine oil.
