Relay Carrier on Vehicle Electrical System Control Module

The Vehicle Electrical System Control Module (J519) and relay carrier on it at the left side of the instrument panel are one component and cannot be separated.

If Vehicle Electrical System Control Module (J519) is to be replaced, the work procedure to read out the codes stored in the module must always be performed --> [ Vehicle Electrical System Control Module, Coding ] Programming and Relearning.

CAUTION!
Turn off the ignition and all electrical consumers.

Remove ignition key.

Removing

- Remove the driver's side footwell cover..

- Remove the driver storage compartment. Refer to - 1 -





- Slide the connector lock - 1 - on the vehicle electrical system control module in the direction of - arrow A -.





- Slide vehicle electrical system control module connector securing latch - 2 - in - direction of arrow B -.

The vehicle electrical system control module connector and the relay connector on the control module can only be disconnected if the connector locks were placed in the "OFF" position.

- Disconnect the connector for the vehicle electrical system control module and the relay carrier on it.

The number of electrical connections depends on vehicle equipment level and market version.

- Unclip the vehicle electrical system control module and the relay carrier it on it from the retainers - C arrows -.

- Pull the vehicle electrical system control module and the relay carrier on it down and opposite the direction of travel out of the bracket.

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal, noting the following:

Connector lock can only be brought into position "CLOSE" when all connectors are "correctly" connected.
