4 Lower Oil Pan

6 Oil Baffle
• Always replace.

8 Oil Pump

Lower Oil Pan Bolt Tightening Sequence and Specification
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Torque wrench 5-50 Nm (VAG 1331)
- Tighten the new bolts for the lower oil pan in 2 passes in sequence - 1 through 20 - as follows:
- Tighten the bolts to 8 Nm.
- Tighten the bolts an additional 90° (1/ 4 turn).
Upper Oil Pan Bolt Tightening Sequence and Specification
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Torque wrench 5-50 Nm (VAG 1331)
- Tighten the new upper oil pan bolts in 2 passes in sequence - 1 through 14 - as follows:
1. Tighten the bolts to 15 Nm.
2. Tighten the bolts an additional 90° (1/ 4 turn).
