1 Oil Level Thermal Sensor (G266)

Not available in the US market.

2 Gasket

Not available in the US market,

3 Bolt

Always replace.

Tightening sequence and specification, refer to --> [ Lower Oil Pan Bolt Tightening Sequence and Specification ].

4 Lower Oil Pan

Removing and installing, refer to --> [ Lower Oil Pan ] Lower Oil Pan.

5 Bolt, 9 Nm

6 Oil Baffle

Always replace.

7 Bolt, 9 Nm

8 Oil Pump

Removing and installing, refer to --> [ Oil Pump ] Oil Pump.

Oil pressure and switch, checking. Refer to --> [ Oil Pressure and Switch, Checking ] Testing and Inspection.

9 Alignment Bushing

For centering the oil pump.

10 Chain Tensioner

For the oil pump drive chain

11 Guide Pin, 9 Nm

12 Oil Pump Drive Chain

Mark direction of rotation before removing.

13 Upper Oil Pan

Removing and installing, refer to --> [ Upper Oil Pan ] Upper Oil Pan.

14 Bolt, 9 Nm

15 Bolt

Always replace

16 Flat Sealing Ring

Lower Oil Pan Bolt Tightening Sequence and Specification





Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Torque wrench 5-50 Nm (VAG 1331)

- Tighten the new bolts for the lower oil pan in 2 passes in sequence - 1 through 20 - as follows:

- Tighten the bolts to 8 Nm.

- Tighten the bolts an additional 90° (1/ 4 turn).

Upper Oil Pan Bolt Tightening Sequence and Specification





Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Torque wrench 5-50 Nm (VAG 1331)

- Tighten the new upper oil pan bolts in 2 passes in sequence - 1 through 14 - as follows:

1. Tighten the bolts to 15 Nm.

2. Tighten the bolts an additional 90° (1/ 4 turn).
